James Robert Miller, 83, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on September 19, 2026, in Indianapolis. He was born on December 21, 1942, in Somerset, Kentucky.

James was a cabinet builder throughout his entire career, dedicating his working life to his craft. His years of work reflected steady commitment and skill, and that devotion remained an important part of the life he built for himself and for those he loved.

Above all, James will be remembered by his family. He is survived by his children, Becky and Berry Branscum, Randy Miller, Robert Miller, Jim and Jackie Short, Kim and Jeff Brown, and Rhonda Short. He is also survived by his brother, Howard and Stacey Miller, and by his sisters, Joyce Francis, Lois and Doug Rutledge, and Wilda Stringer, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. His family circle was an important part of his life, and his memory will continue to live on in all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Mae Miller; by his father and mother, Jessie James and Victoria Josephine Miller; by his brothers, Tully Miller and George Miller; and by his sister, Vicki Sheryl Miller.

James Robert Miller leaves behind a legacy of hard work, family devotion, and enduring remembrance. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
