James Russell McConnell

     James R. McConnell of Fishers, Indiana, age 96 passed away on February 25, 2024.  Jim was born in Gary, Indiana to Russell C. and Altha M. McConnell.  He graduated from Horace Mann H.S. and served in the US Navy.  He then graduated from Butler University with a B.S. degree in General Business in 1950.

     Jim and Lucille had four children; Kathrin Fairneny (Steven), Ann Badders (Mark), Lisa Beth Huggins (Brad, MD), and the Rev. James McConnell, Jr. (Phd)(Susan).  Sadly, his wife Lucille passed away after a brave fight with cancer. Jim’s parents and three brothers: Charles, Earl and John preceded Jim in death. 

     Jim has 11 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, and 2 on the way. Jim was employed for 32 years and was V.P. of Anderson Box Company and Inland Container Corporation. In 1980, Jim married Patricia Ann Derry-Brown, and enjoyed 43 years of marriage. Patricia has two daughters. Deborah Twitty, son Alex, and daughter Kaitlyn.  Elizabeth Milborn (Bob) and son Christian. Jim was a Charter member of The Church of the Nativity Episcopal for over 65 years of devoted service.
