James Floyd Gibson

James Floyd Gibson, age 75, passed away on August 17, 2026. He was born in Centerville, Tennessee.

James retired from Harvester, a chapter of his life that reflected steady dedication and the kind of hard work that earns lasting respect.

In quieter moments, he found simple joy in the outdoors and especially loved to fish—most of all catfishing—embracing the patience and peace that came with time on the water.

James was a beloved father and grandpa, remembered for the care he gave and the steadfast presence he brought to those who depended on him.

He is survived by his sons, Jason and James; grandchildren, Parker, Savanah, Caitlin, Jason Jr, Cody and Bryce; and his brother, Carl. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Velta.

James will be laid to rest at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026 at West Ridge Park Cemetery, 9295 W. 21st Street, Indianapolis.
