James (Jim) Paul Francis, a dedicated Navy veteran, departed this world at the age of 88 on February 1, 2024. Born on October 16, 1935, James served his country for 20 years active as well as 10 years inactive reserves with honor and bravery, exemplifying the values of courage, loyalty, and selflessness throughout his military service. James was a decorated Navy SeaBee and Seal, having served 3 tours in Vietnam. Beyond his esteemed service, James was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, and cherished neighbor and friend. His life was marked by a deep commitment to his family, a passion for adventure, and a steadfast spirit. James leaves behind a lasting legacy of patriotism, integrity, and love. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul find eternal peace as he sails into the horizon of the afterlife.
James was preceded in death by his first wife, mother of his children, Jimmy, Doug, and Diana. James was considered a very dear and close father to second wife, Wilma's (d. 1988) son Larry as well as Larry's wife Betty and their two sons Duane and Don. James was also preceded in death by third wife, Nina (d. 2018).
A military honors service will be held at Indiana Funeral Care - Greenwood Chapel on Monday, February 19th at 11am.
