In Loving Memory of James Douglas Cook

James Douglas Cook, age 46, of Plainfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 18th, 2026.

Born in Danville, Indiana, on February 28th, 1980, James grew up with an adventurous spirit and a creative mind. He graduated from Plainfield High School and successfully turned his talents into entrepreneurship, owning and operating his own printing business, “Cook’s Copy Center,” for several years. He proudly continued working in the printing industry for the rest of his career.

Beyond his work, James was a deeply creative person with a lifelong love for music. As the lead singer and a songwriter for his band “Shed,” he proudly poured his soul and free time into performing and creating music. His artistic talents did not stop at music, as he was a lover of photography and editing and used his skills to capture his love for the outdoors, including hiking and exploring caves.

James was a proud father to his sons, Ethan Cook and Trent Cook (and his wife, Shiann). He was a grandfather to his two grandchildren, Elyse Cook and Carter Cook. James also leaves behind his loyal dog and companion, Willy Cook.

He is survived by his mother, Shirley Cook, and his two beloved sisters, Barbara Weatherington (Andrew) and Carleen Nichols (Mark), along with many extended family members and friends. He now joins his brother, John Cook, and his father, Jack Cook, in heaven.

In accordance with his wishes, no formal ceremony will be held at this time. The family appreciates your love, support, and shared memories during this difficult period.
