James Bivens

James A. Bivens, Sr. of Indianapolis, IN passed away on December 17, 2023. He was born March 17, 1949 in Louden, TN to the late Clifford and Effie Bivens.

James "Jim" retired from Ivy Tech after more than 30 years of employment.

Jim enjoyed his guns, going fishing, working on automotive vehicles, and fixing any equipment that needed repaired. He also loved his trips to Tennessee and visiting the Smoky Mountains.

Jim is survived by his former wife, Stella; sons, James A. (Maria) Bivens Jr., William A. (Kellie) Bivens, and Eric A. (Sherry) Bivens; 9 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice (Jeff) Porter and Peggy Foster; and brother, Clifford (Pam) Bivens.

Family and friends may gather on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 1pm-3pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel. A memorial service will immediately follow, beginning at 3pm, officiated by Pastor David Clayton.
