Gregory Alan Snelling

Gregory “Greg” Alan Snelling was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a man who spent much of his life taking care of others. If someone needed help, Greg was the person they could call. Whether it was fixing something that had broken, figuring out how something worked, or simply lending a helping hand, he was always willing to step in.

Greg’s career began in Naval Avionics, where he built the skills and knowledge that would serve him throughout his working life. He later worked for Raytheon and ultimately retired from Eli Lilly. Greg was naturally gifted when it came to understanding how things worked. Even after retirement, he was always tinkering, repairing, building, and finding something that needed his attention.

Greg also owned and operated his own heating and air conditioning business. He believed in treating people fairly and doing a job right the first time. He charged fair prices and took pride in providing honest, dependable work. For Greg, helping someone stay comfortable in their home was another way of taking care of people.

Greg proudly served in the United States Navy. His sense of responsibility and dedication to others remained a part of who he was throughout his life.

One of Greg’s great joys was riding motorcycles. He loved being on the open road and the freedom that came with it. Whether he was working with his hands, riding his motorcycle, or helping someone in need, Greg was happiest when he was doing something useful and making life a little easier for someone else.

Above all, Greg loved his family. He was a man who often put everyone else first and made sure the people around him were taken care of. His family knew they could depend on him, and his absence will be deeply felt.

Greg is survived by his beloved wife, Helen Snelling; his daughter, Elizabeth and her husband, Jason; his grandchildren, Oliver and Owen; his brother, David; seven nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Donna Snelling, and his sister, Ginger.

Greg leaves behind a lifetime of memories and the many people whose lives were made better because he was there. He will be remembered for his willingness to help, his ability to fix almost anything, his honest work, his service to his country, his love of motorcycles, and most of all, for the way he cared for the people around him.

Greg was a man who knew how to take care of things, but more importantly, he knew how to take care of people. His love and the lessons he gave through the way he lived will remain with his family and all who knew him.
