Gregory Douglas Hueston (61) of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 following his battle with early-onset Alzheimer's Disease.
Gregory was born to John and Janet Hueston in Marion, IN on March 11,1961. Like his grandfather, father, and two older brothers, Gregory joined the United States Navy. He served as a machinist mate for 16 years in Norfolk, VA. After an honorable discharge, Greg worked in Fort Leonard Wood, MO as a boiler technician.
Gregory enjoyed spending time outdoors and being in nature, having hiked half of the Appalachian Trail by himself. Greg was a very friendly, funny, and sweet man. He never met a stranger and loved to make other people laugh. He enjoyed caring for and rescuing stray animals. Most of all, Greg took pride in his four children and their families. He loved being a father and grandfather above anything else.
He is survived by his children: Matthew Hueston (fiancé, Jylna), Chad Hueston (fiance, Liz), Murphy Hueston (wife, Shelby), and daughter, Diana Ylovchan; ten grandchildren; two brothers: John (wife, Beverly) and Jeff (wife, Debbie); and one sister, Suzanne; two nieces and three nephews; a devoted friend, Vicki Pemberton, and his beloved dog, Simba.
Gregory was preceded in death by both of his parents, a granddaughter (Elana) and a grandson (Bryson).
Greg requested cremation with no public services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local animal shelter or the Alzheimer's Association.
The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to Traditions at North Willow and Brighton Hospice for their tender and compassionate care.
