Gloria “Kay” Davis (Maiden Name Whigum), age 63, of [Muncie, IN], passed away peacefully in her home on August 27, 2025, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was also preceded in death by her first stepfather Pleas Whigum; then stepfather Ray O’Neal Sanders, and a brother, Pleas Whigum Jr.

Kay’s life was defined by love, joy, and service to others. She had a gift for music/singing and a passion for working with children, especially those with special needs, both in her professional life and through her ministry in the church. Known for her impeccable style, amazing talent as a wedding planner and creator of beautiful flower arrangements, her delicious cooking, and her warm gatherings with family- Kay was more than a mother, daughter, sister, or friend—she was a confidant, a nurturer, and a safe haven. She was a bright spirit, funny and wise, compassionate and kind, with a heart of gold and a love for her children that surpassed all understanding. Kay truly was a mother to many and touched countless lives with her generosity, encouragement, and unwavering faith.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Felicia Lasley and Tynisha Watkins; 1 grandchild: Aiya Watkins, siblings Johnnie Whigum, Joe (Denise) Whigum, Dorothy Whigum, Lynda Robinson, William Whigum, Lester (Andrea) Whigum, Craig Whigum, J.R. Robinson, and Eddie Robinson. Additionally, she leaves behind her honorary sisters: Shawn Bailey, Chaya

Rowe and Rita Sloss. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
