Geraldine (Willard) (Garriott) Gaskill, a beloved matriarch and devoted homemaker, passed away on May 15, 2026, in New Palestine, Indiana. Born on July 13, 1930, in Fountaintown, Indiana, she leaves behind a rich legacy of love and dedication to her family.
Geraldine embodied the strength and warmth that define a true matriarch. Tough on the outside yet soft and loving on the inside, she dedicated much of her life to nurturing and caring for her family, particularly her four sons. Her days were often filled with the joys of home and family gatherings, where her love for playing euchre brought laughter and togetherness to those around her.
She was the cherished daughter of the late Cortland Spurgeon and Grace Ethel (Snider) Willard and the sister to Paul Willard, James Willard (Barbara), George Willard (Jane), as well as Treva Bardonner (Russell) and Anna Baldwin (John), all of whom preceded her in death. Geraldine was also the widow of two husbands, Delmar Leon Garriott, her first husband, and Paul Gaskill, her second.
Geraldine’s legacy is carried on by her cherished children and family members who are grateful for her enduring love and guidance. She is survived by her children Larry Garriott (Janelle), Mark Garriott (Edie), Dennis Garriott (Karen); stepson Marty Gaskill (Cheryl); and brother Frank Willard. Her grandchildren Cindy Self, Doug Garriott (Kimberly), Amanda Dunn, Kimberly Mundt (James), Angie Matteson (Phil), and Allie DiFilippo (Vince) continue to honor her memory, alongside great-grandchildren Kaelee (Terry), Melodie (Brian), Isaac, Brittin, Carter, Ross, London, Lily, Thaddaeus, Zebedee, and great-grandson Raylan.
The family experienced profound sorrow as her son, Donald Garriott (Sally), passed away the day after Geraldine, marking a poignant chapter in their lives.
A visitation in her honor will be held on May 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Morristown Methodist Church, located at 221 S Washington St, Morristown, Indiana.
