Geraldine (Willard) (Garriott) Gaskill a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully in her home in New Palestine, Indiana on May 15, 2026. She had a wonderful life reaching the age of 95. Gerry was born on July 13, 1930 in Fountaintown, Indiana, the daughter of Cortland and Grace (Snider) Willard. She graduated from Morristown High School. She met the love of her life, Delmar Leon Garriott, at the skating rink in Fountaintown, Indiana. They were married on May 15, 1948 and resided in Fountaintown. Leon worked at Chrysler in Indianapolis and worked very hard to build them their first home. As he finished one home he would start another. Gerry and the boys would do what they could to help Leon and she even drove a dump truck when it was needed. She loved to cook, camp, ride motorcycles, and travel all over the United States. She was an active member of her church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved to play Euchre and other games with her family and friends.
Gerry is preceded in death by her parents Cortland and Grace (Snider) Willard, her husbands Delmar Leon Garriott and Paul Gaskill, and her brothers Paul, George, and Jim, her sisters Treva (Willard) Bardonner and Anna (Willard) Baldwin, her son Donald Garriott and daughter-in-law Sally (Loder) Garriott.
She is lovingly remembered by her children Larry (Jan) Garriott, Mark (Edie) Garriott, Dennis (Karen) Garriott`and step son Marty Gaskill.
She also leaves behind her brother, Frank Willard, grandchildren, Cindy Self (David Stephens), Doug (Kim) Garriott, Amanda Dunn, Kimberly (James) Mundt, Angie (Phil) Matteson, Allie (Vince) DiFilippo, stepchildren, Alexis (Trevor) Baughman, Kira, Lindsley, and Nate Gaskill, great grandchildren, Kaelee (Terry) Warrick, Melodie (Bryan) Hall, Isaac Arueyingho, Brittin (Cadence) & London, Carter, Ross, and Lily Mundt, Corbin Bayes, and Thaddaeus and Zebedee Matteson, and great great grandchildren Raylan Hall and Beau Baughman. Mom, you left us with so many fond memories but we take great comfort in knowing you are safe in the arms of Jesus and we will be with you again someday.
A visitation in her honor will be held on May 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Morristown Methodist Church, located at 221 S Washington St, Morristown, Indiana. The funeral service will follow from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the same location. A burial will take place at Fountaintown Cemetery, 147 E. Brookville Road, Fountaintown, Indiana, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
