Georgia O. (Emanuel) McIntosh,passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, at the age of 87, in Greenwood, Indiana. Born on February 22, 1939, in Baxley, Georgia, she was a vibrant spirit who embraced life with grace and enthusiasm.
Over the years, Georgia resided in various states, including Florida and Colorado, before settling in Indiana. Her love for adventure and exploration was evident through her passion for traveling. She cultivated a deep appreciation for nature, often indulging in bird watching, which allowed her to connect with the serene beauty surrounding her.
Georgia's commitment to her faith was marked by her dedicated participation in her church choir, where her voice brought joy to many. A fervent reader of her Bible, she found solace and inspiration in its teachings. Beyond these pursuits, she expressed her creativity through painting, capturing the essence of her surroundings.
In the latter part of her life, Georgia received loving care from the compassionate staff at Aspen Trace Cherished Memories, where she resided for the last two years.
She is survived by her beloved sons, Miles Lee McIntosh (Donna) and Joseph David McIntosh (Jessica), and a devoted family of grandchildren: Jason McIntosh (Courtney), Whitney Rahn (Dan), Ian McIntosh (Jasmine), Samantha Loyd, and Ruthann McIntosh. Georgia also cherished her great-grandchildren, Savannah Grace, Beckett, Gracelyn, Delilah, Mabel, and Briar, each of whom brought immense joy to her life. Additionally, she is remembered by her siblings, Lee Madison Emanuel Jr., Daniel McDuffy Emanuel, Geri Scott, and Howard Emanuel.
Georgia was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Herman "Mac" McIntosh, and her eldest son, Johnny McIntosh. She is also reunited in eternal rest with her parents, Lee Madison and Mitylene "Mittie" (Holland) Emanuel Sr., as well as her siblings, Adna Lee Schrock, Francis Marion Emanuel, and William Grady Emanuel.
Georgia O. McIntosh leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and artistic expression, touching the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
