With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of George W. Frentz, a cherished resident of Indianapolis, IN, who peacefully departed this life on Monday, March 29th, following a brave three-year battle with cancer. He was 75 years old.
A distinguished alumnus of Butler University, George embarked on a remarkable career journey primarily with US Airways, where he served as a dedicated Reservation Instructor. Through his work, he traveled the globe professionally and alongside his beloved family, exploring destinations such as Europe, Hawaii, and the picturesque Caribbean islands. A brief tenure with Verizon in Pennsylvania and Indiana added another chapter to his professional legacy.
George was preceded in death by his loving parents; Katherine Thompson and Benjamin Milton Frentz, siblings; Jude, Robert, Theresa, Bernadette and Nancy (Ryan) Frentz . He is survived by his devoted daughter; Shelley, sibling; James, cherished granddaughter; Skylar Landis, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In retirement, George found fulfillment in giving back to his community. His volunteer work with Conner Prairie and his role as an usher at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, where he was a dedicated member, brought him immense joy. He was a man who cherished moments spent with family, relished visits to Indiana state parks, and delighted in annual outings to the Indiana State Fair with his granddaughter.
A celebration of George’s life will be held on Saturday, June 22nd, starting with visitation at noon and followed by a memorial service at 1 pm at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, located at 100 W. 86th St., Indianapolis, IN 4626.
