Gary Pope

Gary Pope, 75, of Indianapolis, peacefully passed away at his home on September 28, 2026.

Gary was born February 11, 1951 to the late Warren and Betty Pope.

Gary proudly served in the United States Navy from 1970 to 1974, including three tours in Vietnam. He spent several years in the machine industry and ended his working career as a self-employed handyman.

Gary was married to his wife, Pam Pope, for 50 years. Together they built a life centered on family and shared time. He spent many years with the Scouting organization and had been active with the Tuesday Crew at Camp Belzer. He loved woodworking, photography, feeding the birds, and maintaining the nicest lawn in the neighborhood.

He was a member of LifePoint Church.

Gary is survived by his wife, Pam; his sister, Cindy Gross (Bill); his children, Mike Pope (Nicole), Chris Pope, and Jaimie Anderson (Ryan); along with seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Pope, his mother, Betty (Pankey) Pope; and his brother, Roger Pope.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a future date.
