Garfield (Gar) C. Greathouse was born on August 29, 1933 in Mount Carmel, Illinois and entered his final rest on March 6, 2024 at his home in Markleville, surrounded by family and friends. He was one of two surviving children born to Ethel and Elmer Greathouse. He was joyfully married to Sandra (Sandy) Greathouse for over 60 years and just recently celebrated that milestone with many friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Sandy, daughter Garlene (Katelyn), son Tim (Hope) and 2 grandchildren, Bayla and Carson. He is also survived by his eldest Brother John, sister in law Peg, sister in law Linda Fesmire and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, step father Oscar, sister Miriam (Ray), sister Almeta (Bob), brother James (Joann), brother Leroy, brother in law Bob Fesmire, nephews Tom and Kim Garner and great niece Kelsey Greathouse. At his request, he will be cremated and spread on the family farm. The family will hold a celebration of life on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 10 am - 2 pm at the Greathouse residence, 10085 S. 400 E Markleville, IN 46056 The family encourages the sharing of fond memories of your time with him.
