Gale is survived by his sister Dalea (Andy Malone) Cummings, daughter Michelle Cummings, son Andrew Cummings, nephew Robert Cummings, nieces Laron (Mike) Chambers and Sadie (Anna) Cummings.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ross L. Cummings, maternal grandparents Oscar and Sadie (Taylor) Pauley, paternal grandparents Fred E. and Pearl J. (Moncel) Cummings.
