Fred Allen Hollyfield

Fred Allen Hollyfield, 74, passed away peacefully at Elwood Health and Living on September 29, 2026. He was born on July 31, 1952, in Abingdon, VA, to the late Edgar Ashby Hollyfield, Sr. and Ruth (Gilliam) Hollyfield. He continued his education while proudly serving in the United States Army, where he became an x-ray technician. After being honorably discharged in 1976, he continued his medical career, becoming a CT technician, where he enjoyed helping others.

Fred met and later married the love of his life, Diana Lynn (Frye) Hollyfield on December 26, 1971, spending nearly 55 years by each other’s sides through all of life’s adventures. He was a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, who had many joys in life. He loved cars, motorcycles and every opportunity to hit the road for a cruise.

Fred is survived by his beloved wife, Diana Lynn Hollyfield; brothers, William Bartly (Jennifer) Hollyfield and Edgar Ashby (JoDeane) Hollyfield, Jr.; sister, Becky (Mark) Hollyfield; several nieces and nephews, as well as his fur-baby, his puppy, Candy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Ashby Hollyfield, Sr. and Ruth Hollyfield; and his brother, Jimmy Kyle Hollyfield
