Francis "Frank" Paul Migliano

Francis “Frankie” Paul Migliano, 70, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away January 25, 2024 at Allisonville Meadows in Fishers. He was born February 15, 1953, in Indianapolis, IN to the late Frank Migliano and Joyce (Butcher) Migliano. 
Frankie lived in Muscatatuck Developmental Center for 42 years prior to moving into a group home in Carmel. At the group home, Frankie made 4 new friends, Bobby, James, Randall and Patty (deceased) where they lived together and enjoyed each other’s company for over 20 years. While living at the group home, Frankie participated in a day program operated by the ARC of Indiana. Frankie was “employed” as a can crusher and he earned 5 cents per can which he quickly spent on his favorite treats.

Frankie looked forward to spending time with his family on “Frankie Sunday”. During each visit, Frankie tossed the ball back and forth to others, colored in his coloring books, played his picture matching game and ate all the foods he loved. Every dinner ended with his favorite dessert, vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. Frankie, though non-verbal, was still able to express himself. Although Frankie had no formal education, he was able to comprehend and follow through on most simple directions given to him. His family, often to their surprise, discovered he was quietly listening and understood the conversations around him.

Frank is survived by his sisters, Sandra (Gary) Blackburn, and Donna (Mark Johnson) Newman; as well as his nieces and nephews, Carrie (George) Summers, Timothy (Meagan) Chariton, Todd (Tracy) Chariton, Robin (John O’Connor) Chariton, and Megan Newman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Joyce Migliano.

Visitation will be from 2-3 pm, followed immediately by a memorial service on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Indiana Funeral Care – 8151 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46250.
