Floyd Thomas
March 2, 1942 – October 12, 2025
Floyd Thomas was born on March 2, 1942, in his family home in Indianapolis, Indiana. One of 13 children born to Stanley Thomas and Lelia (Esters) Thomas, Floyd grew up in a loving and lively household that instilled in him the values of hard work, family, and faith.
In 1980, Floyd married the love of his life, Cathy Seaman. Together, they shared 45 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered around love, resilience, and family.
Floyd was a devoted father to four children. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Floyd George Thomas Jr.

A true lover of nature, Floyd found peace in the outdoors and took great pride in his craft as a passionate woodworker. Whether he was building something with his hands or simply enjoying the quiet of the natural world, Floyd's spirit was grounded, creative, and deeply present. Above all else, his heart belonged to his family and the Lord.
Floyd retired from Allison Transmission in 2009, grateful for what he considered a blessing of a career. His time there marked the culmination of more than 40 years of dedicated service.

Floyd's legacy is one of love, craftsmanship, and quiet strength. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know him.
Services for Floyd will take place on Monday, October 20, 2025 at Indiana Funeral Care: 8151 Allisonville Rd Indianapolis IN 46250. Visitation is at 11:00AM with a Celebration of Life at 12:00PM. Burial to follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
