F. Stephen (Steve) Doyle of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022. He was 82 years old. Steve was born on November 26, 1939 in Altoona, Pennsylvania and was one of eleven children. In 1960 he graduated from Penn State University with an Associate's degree in drafting. He was then hired by Western Electric who moved him to Winston-Salem, North Carolina where he met his wife Sylvia and they wed on October 27, 1962. In 1965 he was transferred to Indianapolis and he and his wife & children have lived there since. Steve retired from AT&T/Bell Labs/ Western Electric in 1996. In 1997, he went to work for Rockler Woodworking and retired from there in 2012. Steve is survived by his wife, Sylvia, their children Donald (Claudia) Doyle, Stephanie (David) Petrous, and Melissa Doyle, their six grandchildren (Lauren [Ethan], Molly, Noah, Sarah [Deen], Eric, and AJ), a great-grandchild (Josie) and several nieces and nephews throughout the country. Steve enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, woodworking and building beautiful furniture for friends and family, and watching “the ball game”. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Rock Steady Boxing Headquarters at 7440 N. Shadeland Avenue, Ste. 202, Indianapolis, IN 46250. A Mass will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday September 29, 2022 at St. Simon Catholic Church 8155 Oaklandon Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46236.
