Evelyn Ruth Fischer Carpenter

Evelyn Ruth Fischer Carpenter, 97, formerly of Brownsburg, Indiana died Saturday, August 8, 2026.

A native of Cory, Indiana, Evelyn was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on October 26, 1928, to Clifford and Violet (Hawk) Fischer.

On June 6, 1951 she married Robert E. Carpenter who preceded her in death in 1990.

Surviving are her daughter, Cathy Tacoma and husband, Kenneth; grandchildren: John Carpenter, Melanie Hildreth, Laurel Tacoma, Cara Kuiper, Alexander Carpenter, Meghan Carpenter and seven great-grandchildren.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her sons, Robert E. Carpenter II and Steven D. Carpenter.

Evelyn was laid to rest next to her parents, her brother, Joe Fischer, sister-in-law, Patricia Fischer and nephew, Kirk Fisher in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Clay City, Indiana.
