Eric Joseph Perra

Eric Joseph Perra, 27, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on September 5, 2026, in Indianapolis. He was born on March 28, 1999, in Indianapolis, and will be remembered for the strong presence he brought to the lives of those who knew and loved him.

Eric graduated from Beech Grove High School, where he was active in athletics and made his mark as a football player, baseball player, and wrestler. In football, he served as a co-captain during his freshman year, a reflection of the leadership and determination that were part of who he was.

Those who knew Eric will remember a young man with striking blue eyes, like crystals in the sky, and a smile that could light up a room. People were naturally drawn to him. He was unapologetically himself, meeting the world with honesty and a spirit that was entirely his own. Eric was feisty and had an attitude, yet beneath that tough exterior was a deeply compassionate person. He stood up for his mother and brother, and that loyalty and protectiveness spoke to the depth of his heart. He had many friends, and his loss will be felt by all who shared in his life.

Eric is survived by his mother, Scotti Sue (Barker) Cleaves and her husband David; his brother, Adam Perra and his wife Kennedy; and his grandmother, Esther Bacon affectionately known as Mimi. He also carries forward the love of family members who remained important parts of his life and memory.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Joseph Perra, as well as his grandfathers, Wendell, known as Papaw, and Pappy, his grandpa.

Eric will be remembered with love for his spirit, his loyalty, and the unforgettable light he brought into a room with his smile. His memory will remain in the hearts of his family, his many friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
