Elizabeth Sherron Ruppert

September 26, 1941 — October 14, 2023

Indianapolis

Elizabeth Sherron Webber, 82, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on October 14th, 2023.

Sherron was born on September 26th, 1941, to Harry E. and Elizabeth L. Webber in Beech Grove, Indiana. Sherron went on to graduate from Thomas Carr Howe High School in 1959.

In 1967, Sherron married Gary Lee Ruppert of Indianapolis. Sherron and Gary were married for over 25 years and had three sons, Gary Lee II (Chip) in 1969, Charles Edward (Chuck) in 1970 and Richard Paul (Rick) in 1974.

Sherron never met a stranger and would brag incessantly to everyone about her three sons. Sherron was a fiercely dedicated mom to all her children. She always made sure to be the loudest supporter during all their youth sporting events, sometimes to their embarrassment. This would later be one of her favorite stories that she told, to anyone that would listen. Sherron would wink, grin, and say that she only wanted all the other parents to know exactly who her children were.

Sherron grew up with her younger brother Harry Ellis (Buddy). They were inseparable and the best of friends as young adults. Sherron was a member of Jobes Daughters and Buddy was a member of the Demolays. They would often attend dances together with their group of friends and would go on to win several dance contests together.

Sherron pursued challenge after challenge in her career journey. She started as a Keypunch administrator before jumping into different marketing and sales opportunities with Amway, Century 21 and The Daily Journal. She even moved to Rochester, New York for a local newspaper position before returning home to Indiana to enjoy her retirement years.

Sherron had a very special love for dogs. In fact, she loved her furry four-legged friends so much, one of Sherron’s only requirements for her first assisted living facility were that the facility be “pet friendly.” Thankfully one was available, and she was able to live with her fury companion Laura Lilly until she transferred later to the full-time care living facility at Hooverwood, on the west side of Indianapolis.

Sherron also had another special love for football. More specifically the Indianapolis Colts. She was a long time Bears fan as a little girl, until the Colts moved from Baltimore to Indianapolis in 1983. From that day on she became one of the most adamant and loyal Colts fans. One of the family’s fondest memories was when she learned that the NFL channel was available on her assisted living cable facilities cable television network. Sherron was never more comfortable than when she was curled up with her favorite afghan, in her chair, with her dog on her lap watching her beloved Indianapolis Colts.

All three of her sons went on to establish families of their own, of which Sherron was a supremely proud Mother, Mother-in-Law, Grandmother, and Great Grandma of.

Sherron was predeceased by her parents Harry E. and Elizabeth L. Webber, her brother Harry E. Webber. She is survived by her three sons, their wives, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren. Chip & Monai Ruppert, Tristan Ruppert, Jarrett Ruppert, Charles & Erin Ruppert, Gabby Ruppert, Charlie Ruppert, Richard and Trisha Ruppert, Gavin Ruppert, Gunner Ruppert and Jimmy Gruss, Ciara Ruppert and her three great grandchildren Athan, Xavier, and Addley.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Sherron's name to the Humane Society of America. The family plans to hold a private celebration in honor of Sherron's wonderful life.
