Listen to Obituary

Elizabeth Kristen (Malone) Eckstein, 52, of Greenwood, Indiana, died unexpectedly as a result of heart complications on July 7, 2026. Beth was born on July 7, 1974, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Michael W. Malone and Linda Duncan. Beth was the older sister of Jennifer (Malone) Anderson. She loved her first family dearly and remained close to them her entire life.

Beth is survived by her husband of 19 years, Craig Eckstein; children Connor Patrick, Brynn Isabella, and Keegan Alexandar Eckstein; parents, Michael W. Malone and Linda Duncan; sister Jennifer Anderson; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Beth graduated from Ball State University with a degree in Psychology and spent a semester studying abroad at Oxford University in England. Beth and Craig married on May 5, 2007, and had three amazing children. Beth found the greatest joy in life from her role in this family. She left her career to stay home with her kids so that she could be there for them in every capacity. She loved making her family feel special on their birthdays, at sporting events and concerts, on every holiday, for academic achievements, as well as in life’s little moments. Beth loved to travel and wanted to show her kids the world, and to make sure they knew they could go anywhere and do anything.

After being a wife and mother, Beth’s passion in life was advocating for people who were facing complex difficulties in their lives, from disabilities to mental health and addiction recovery. Through her own life experiences, she knew that having a champion when dealing with challenges can make all the difference, and she wanted to be that person for as many people as possible. She demonstrated this passion in her career as a Waiver Case Manager, the career she returned to as her children got older.

On Beth’s 50th birthday, our entire family came together to create a list of reasons we love her. We will remember her best for her encouragement, compassion, creativity, smile, and most of all, her amazing hugs.
