Edward V. Busby

Edward V. Busby (“Ed”), 88, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026, at 7:15 a.m. while residing at Allisonville Meadows Assisted Living in Fishers.

Ed was born on December 25, 1937, in Kokomo to Frank and Elsie Busby. He graduated from Indiana University, where he met the love of his life, Reta Dickerson. The two were married on December 25, 1960, beginning a beautiful partnership that lasted 60 years until Reta’s passing.

Ed dedicated 35 years of service to Delco Remy before retiring in 1994. He was known for his strong work ethic, quick wit, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Outside of work, Ed found joy on the golf course and in his woodworking shop. Woodworking was more than a hobby to him — it was a craft lovingly passed down from his father, one that reflected Ed’s patience, creativity, and attention to detail. Ed and his father also shared a love for restoring cars, a passion that brought him great pride and enjoyment throughout his life. He truly loved his cars and the memories and craftsmanship that came with them.

Whether building with his hands, restoring a vehicle, or spending time with loved ones, Ed appreciated life’s simple and meaningful moments.

Ed is survived by his children, Josanna, Shelly, and Scot; and his grandson, Matthew. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Reta Busby; his parents, Frank and Elsie Busby; and his sister, Doris Dickerson.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at Allisonville Meadows for the compassion, kindness, and support they provided to Ed over the past several years.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 23, at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery & Funeral Needs.
