Edward Buchanan, 96, of Cloverdale, passed peacefully on January 12, 2026 with family by his side. He was born on July 17, 1929 to Lewis and Mary Buchanan in Artrip, Virginia.

He loved the Lord and served as a Deacon for over 40 years beginning at Good Shepherd Church and then at Putnamville Baptist Church.

Edward was a true Outdoorsman. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, camping and boating. He was also the Horseshoe champion of the family. Edward also was a gifted carpenter and enjoyed working with his hands. That trade followed him into many careers throughout his life, including retiring from Olin Brass.

Edward is survived by his beloved wife of 76 years, Betty Ann Buchanan; his children, Bobby (Debbie) and Steven; his brothers, Andrew and Roy; as well as 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, Sylvester, James, Gilmer and Roscoe and 1 sister, Exie Elmore.

A funeral service will be held at Noon on Saturday, January, 24, 2026 at Putnamville Baptist Church, 637 US 40, Cloverdale, Indiana 46120. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time. Edward will be laid to rest at Stilesville Cemetery following the service.

Everyone who knew Edward loved and adored him. Ed was a friend to everyone. He will be deeply missed by all.
