Edna Tilton

Edna (Bellenbach) Tilton, 90, of Carmel; passed away peacefully on May 21st, 2023.

Edna was born and grew up in Indianapolis, attending IPS School #84, Shortridge High School and Butler University. After receiving her Bachelors and Masters in Education, she taught various grades in both IPS and Washington Township Schools. Edna was an active member of the Delta Gamma Sorority, Daughters of the American Revolution and First Christian and Allisonville Christian Churches. In her spare time, Edna loved gardening, sewing and antiques. An avid reader and geneology buff, she loved all things historical; including travel shared with her family and friends to National Cemeteries, Memorials and Parks/Sites. Edna will be best remembered for her compassion, love, and commitment to family and friends, students and faith! Edna is survived by her daughter Kathy.

Services will be held on June 1st at Indiana Funeral Care, located at 8151 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46250. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 2:00-3:30 pm with a service to follow at 3:30. In lieu of flowers, please donate funds or items to Linwood Church Community Outreach Ministries, located at 4424 E Michigan St. Indianapolis, IN 46201.
