Dr. Linda Lee Neat
March 28, 1963 — August 3, 2020
Dr. Linda Lee Neat - born in Flint, Michigan on March 28, 1963. Dr. Neat passed away suddenly the morning of Monday, August 3, 2020 after a brave and courageous battle with cancer.
Dr. Neat is survived by her dearest companion Kimberly Satterly; her best 4-legged friends NIKE and SNEAKERS; her parents Drs. Thomas and Sue Neat of Elkhart, Indiana, her brother Dennis (Barbara) Neat of Ada, Michigan, her nephew Douglas Neat of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and her niece Bridget Neat (Alex) Zick of Holland, Michigan.
The family wishes to thank all the medical personnel at St. Vincent, IU medical center and the two Community Health Rehabilitation facilities who assisted Dr. Neat through her long journey.
Dr. Neat graduated from Ottawa Hills High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She graduated from Grand Rapids Community College and attended Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana. She graduated from Baker Business College, Muskegon, Michigan and earned her MBA, Master of Arts and Doctorate degrees at Indiana Wesleyan University. Dr. Neat was named Woman of the Year by The National Association of Professional Women for 2010/2011. Dr. Neat recently became a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow.
Dr. Neat was an avid sports participant. In high school she participated in swimming, volleyball and softball. At Grand Rapids Community College and Ball State University she participated in softball. Dr. Neat played recreation softball for the Metro League of Indianapolis. Her last softball game was Sunday night watching a rerun of a NCAA tournament game as she watched her favorite college The University of Michigan and their outstanding coach. Dr. Neat was also an avid Indianapolis Colts fan.
Dr. Neat moved to Indiana to work for RCA in Marion, Indiana and later in Indianapolis. She was an IT Program Manager for BCforward where she continued to work as she fought her courageous battle with cancer.
Dr. Neat volunteered with the Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis, Indiana Sports Corporation, helped lead the building of two homes for Habitat for Humanity and she drove several floats for the Indy 500 parades.
Dr. Neat was keenly interested in travels particularly with friends and family. She had a most contagious and inviting smile and infectious sense of humor. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She would like to have any contributions given to the Humane Society of your choice.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 15, 2020, from 11:00 AM -1:00PM at the Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46250.
Dr. Neat also requested to have a “happy” celebration after her death. But, due to the COVID virus the celebration date is yet to be determined.
