Douglas Edwin Huffman
Doug was born June 26, 1942, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and passed away at his home in Indianapolis, IN on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. Celebrating his reunion with loved ones in heaven with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Doug will be remembered with love by his family and friends. He lived a life marked by his strong faith in God, his love for others, and the lasting connections he made with those around him. No one was a stranger to Doug. Sharing his faith with others was the most important conversation. Doug started his music career as a teenager and continued a successful career as a drummer for over 20 years. He also was involved in sales and leadership throughout other careers in his lifetime.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Kathleen Lamb-Huffman. Janis Schoo (Dennis), the mother of his four children, Joel Huffman (Nikki), Jeremy Huffman, Nic Huffman and Rachel Huffman (Luke Smith), and his daughter Renee Bova (Huffman), grandchildren Ethan, Elizabeth, Logan, Quindalyn, Reese, Harlan and Maren. Half-sister Tina Benjamin (John). He was preceded in death by his mother Henrietta Lanigan Sowder, his stepfather Floyd Sowder and his biological father Oliver Huffman.
A Celebration of Life service to honor Doug’s life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026. Fellowship will start at 10:00am, the Celebration Service will start at 11:00am. The Celebration will be held at Westlake Church located at 6696 Rockville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46214. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of his life. We are celebrating the life of Doug, we ask no black is worn for the Celebration of Life.
