Donna Marie Peacock (Hamilton), 63, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026, after fighting a year-and-a-half battle with cancer. She was a cherished mother, mother-in-law, grandmother (“Gigi”), sister, aunt and friend. She was so incredibly loved, and her presence here on Earth will be deeply missed.

Born on April 2, 1963, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Donna was the daughter of the late George Arnold Hamilton Sr. and the late Laura Marian Hamilton (Babcock). Although Donna moved around some throughout her life, she mostly lived on the great Eastside of Indianapolis.

Donna was a Warren Central High School graduate, class of 1981. She was so proud of being a Warrior and spoke fondly of her days as a mat maid for the wrestling team and playing the clarinet in the marching band. She met some of her very best friends during this time. She later attended college at Ball State University.

When Donna became so ill, she had to resign from the Marion County Assessor’s Office where she worked in the Business Personal Property Department for over 10 years. Donna was always “late to the party,” but if there is one thing that is certain, she appreciated work and having a job, and she had a deep admiration for her work family. It was very evident that she cherished her work friendships very much.

Donna loved all things sports, especially when it came to her Indiana sports teams. IU Football, IU Basketball, Notre Dame Football, Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, Indiana Fever, Indy Eleven and Indy 500 all held a special place in her heart, and she cheered passionately for them.

Above all else, Donna loved and adored her people, especially her grandchildren, all thirteen of them! In the end, she had a very hard time letting go because she so badly wanted to watch her grandbabies grow. She was reassured many times that she would never be forgotten. There is no way she ever could be.

Life wasn’t always easy on Donna, but she kept her head held high and pushed through. She was sweet, funny, resilient, full of random, fun facts (especially sports-related), stubborn, sassy, always on her own time, thoughtful and so, so strong. She was a lover of TV (The Today Show, soap operas, any game and reruns were some of her favorites), Dollar General, dogs, cheeseburgers, steak, coffee and milkshakes (she even had a milkshake on a “good” day the last week of her life).

She is survived by her four loving children, Candice Keleher (Mike Keleher), Anthony Pelley (Chante Pelley), Myranda Peacock (Marquise Staten) and Emilee Peacock (Kalin Lomax); and thirteen cherished grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Jan Pelley (late Fred Pelley); her two older sisters, Debbie Wiley (Mark Wiley) and Barb Long (late Randy Long); her older brother, George Hamilton; nieces and nephews along with great-nieces and great-nephews; and many other family members and dear friends who already miss her.

Donna led a simple life, and although it was cut far too short, it was a life well lived full of love, laughter and countless happy memories.

She fought a good fight, and her children are so very proud of her.

Services will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Indiana Funeral Care (317-636-6464), 8151 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, Indiana 46250. Additional details will be announced soon.
