Donna Marie Holland, lovingly known as Lady D, passed away on September 16, 2026. She was born on May 15, 1958, to Robert Allen Craig Sr. and Earlene Frances Beeler.
Donna lived life in her own honest and unforgettable way. She was known as someone who told it like it was, and that direct spirit was simply part of who she was. She was also a great listener and a good friend to many. Her family remembers her as an awesome aunt, mother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed family gatherings, laughter, and staying connected with the people she loved. Some knew her as a little rough around the edges, but that was her natural personality, and she remained true to herself throughout her life.
Education was an important part of her journey. Donna attended Shortridge High School, received her GED, and later attended Pontiac Business Institute in 1985. She built a strong working life and spent 26 years at the city county building until her health took a turn and she had to retire. Over the years, she also held various positions in different jobs and businesses.
Outside of work, Donna found joy in simple pleasures. She liked to crochet and loved watching football. She especially enjoyed talking on the phone with family and friends, keeping those close relationships alive through conversation. When she was younger, she also enjoyed going to swap meets.
Among the things she valued most, Donna’s proudest accomplishment was raising her son, Derek. He remained at the center of her heart and life.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Holland; her father, Robert Allen Craig Sr.; and her brother, Bobby Joe Yarbro.
She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Earlene Beeler-Tarrants; her son, Derek; her brothers, Robert Jr. and his wife Iva, Melvin, and Jeffery Sr. and his wife Benita; her sister, Veronica and her uncles Charlie Beeler and his wife Bobra and Eddie Beeler and his wife Georgia. She also leaves behind many relatives, friends, nieces, nephews, cousins and all those who were touched by her honesty, strength, and presence.
Visitation will be held on October 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 1301 N Goodlet Ave, Indianapolis, Indiana 46222. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church.
Donna Marie Holland will be remembered for her strong spirit, her love for family, her unmistakable personality, and the many conversations, laughs, and memories she shared with those around her.
