Donald Clayton

Donald Clayton, 74, of Indianapolis, IN, went home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 7, 2025. He was born on June 23, 1951, in Indianapolis, to the late Robert J. Clayton and Vivian E. (Briner) Rutledge. He grew up in Eagledale and was a graduate of Northwest Highschool.

After completing his education, he worked in Pittsburg as a printer. He then went on to work for several years at Western Electric and later went to work in Indianapolis for Hillrom, delivering medical supplies to care facilities. Donald loved his family, including his cats, and had many joys in life. He enjoyed playing music with the Willowcreek Band, riding his bike around Indianapolis, working security in May every racing season, and traveling to Tennessee to his wife, Cindy’s home to work on the tobacco fields.

Donald is survived by his wife, Cindy Clayton; children Casey and Michael; siblings, Larry (Judy) Clayton, Kevin Clayton, and Sandy (Mark) Julian; as well as Joyce Mulvey, and Doug (Cheryl) Thomas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert J. and Mary E. Clayton and Vivian E. and Edward Rutledge.
