Denise Kay Cochran, born Harris, passed away on October 24, 2025, in Greenwood, Indiana, at the age of 50. She was born on July 22, 1975, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Denise exemplified warmth and kindness throughout her life, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by her family and friends.
Denise was a devoted mother to her children, Ryan Cochran and Juliah Cochran, and a loving grandmother to her grandchildren, Kenzleigh Kay, Paisleigh Denise, and Karleigh Cochran. Her granddaughters carry the honor of being named after her, a testament to the profound influence she had in their lives. She embraced the title of “mom” from many, as her nurturing spirit extended well beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of numerous children in her community.
Denise cherished the simple joys of life, often taking peaceful walks to gaze at the stars above. Her love for adventure led her to enjoy outings to the casino, where one memorable occasion saw her winning and celebrating exuberantly in the lobby, dancing and singing with unrestrained joy.
In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is also survived by her beloved mother, Rebecca Clark, and her siblings, Angie Harris, Richie Harris (and Joyce Harris, his wife), and Shelly Pitzer. Denise held her best friend, Connie Pittman, close to her heart, finding solace and companionship in their lifelong bond.
Denise is preceded in death by her father, Richard W. Harris.
Her compassionate nature, infectious laughter, and unwavering support for those around her will always be remembered. Denise Kay Cochran will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
