Dena Danette Burgess, 51, of New Whiteland, Indiana passed away December 17, 2021 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born December 7,1970 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Donna Whittaker and Nelson Burgess.
Dena's main love in her life was her daughter, Kylee. Nothing was more important to her than Kylee. Being a mother brought out the best in her, a bond that nothing could break! Dena was so excited to be Gigi and to spoil, love grandbaby. We truly believe that she will be with her grandson everyday of his life. Dena was a very easy person to love; she could start a conversation with just about anyone she met. She always had the biggest and brightest smile on her face that could light up any room. Dena loved to take pictures of everything. We couldn't go anywhere without her pulling out her camera to capture the moment. Her favorite thing to take pictures of was the sunsets and especially sunsets on the beach. The only thing that I've seen Dena scared of was driving when it was raining. She would always have to pull over and wait for the rain to stop before continuing on. Her family meant the world to her and she was always sure to show it. Dena was her mother's heart. They took care of one another and loved each other endlessly. Dena touched so many lives before she left this beautiful place, we will forever love and cherish her.
Dena is survived by her mother, Donna Whittaker; daughter, Kylee White (Austin Phillips); grandson, Camden Phillips; sisters, Carlie Burgess and Mikki Burgess (Quint Rouse); bonus sons, Roland White lll and Brayden White; father, Nelson (Joyce) Burgess; aunt, Sandy Gray; uncles, Kerry (Rita) Smith and Mark Smith; nieces and nephews, Lanie Frost, Zachary Rouse, Kyle Campbell, Kaden Harris, Zachary Harris, and Jackson Rouse; great nieces, Jacelynne Cook, Kasey Wyrosdick, and Noelle Rouse; her birthday buddy, Ayden Adams; and her fur baby, Edward.
The family would like to thank Kim Ottinger and Jason Phillips for all their love and support. Dena cherished her many friendships and took them very seriously. Her life was well lived and her love will live on forever.
