Deloris Marie Onken, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Plainfield, IN on August 14, 2024, just a week shy of her 86th birthday. Born in Indianapolis, IN on August 21, 1938, Deloris spent a lifetime in the beauty industry, dedicating over 40 years to her craft as a hairstylist after graduating from Ben Davis High School.
On November 30, 1956, Deloris married Charles Onken, and together they raised a beautiful family of six children: Kathy, Cindy, Karen, Denina, Paula, and Chuckie. Deloris' legacy extends through her children, who brought her immense joy and pride. Her dear husband Charles, daughter Kathy, and son Chuckie preceded her in death, leaving a significant void in her family's life.
Deloris had a special talent for connecting with people through her work, and her clients held a special place in her heart. Through her dedication, passion, and skill as a hairdresser, she left a lasting impact on those she served. The memories shared in her salon will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
Besides her children, Deloris leaves behind a legacy through her nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, who will always remember her love, warmth, and wisdom.
Deloris touched the lives of many with her kindness, love, and dedication. Her memory will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished. May she rest in peace.
