Della Marie Poore

Della Marie Poore, born on December 19, 1948, in Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on June 11, 2026. She was a dedicated professional in VA Administration and was known for her kind spirit and warm presence.

Della's life was full of simple joys and cherished interests. She loved Winnie the Pooh, owls, the festive spirit of Christmas, coloring, playing games, and had a fondness for the movie Earnest Scared Stupid. These hobbies brought comfort and happiness to her and those around her.

She faced her final days bravely, living with Alzheimer’s disease. Despite the challenges of her illness, her memory remains alive in the hearts of all who knew her.

Della was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Lawrence Roy Pringle and Hazel Marie (Drager) Pringle. She also was preceded by her brothers, Lawrence Pringle and James Pringle (Della), and her sister, Betty Swango (Leonard).

She is survived by her best friend and sister, Linda Barham (Tom). Della was a devoted mother to her children, Laura Marie Turner (Danny) and James Philip Leslie Poore (Freidel). Her loving family extends to her grandchildren: Freddie Allen Dixson II, Timothy James Dixson, Daniel Ray Turner II, Christopher James Poore, and Kelsi Marie Poore. She also took great joy in her great-grandchildren: Presaius Ava Dixson, Rayne Marie Dixson, Beth Ann Dixson, and Kynlee May Dixson.

Della’s family and friends remember her with love and gratitude for the gentle strength she showed throughout her life. Her legacy of warmth and care will continue to brighten the lives of those who were fortunate to know her.
