Debra Jo Hammond

Debra Jo Hammond passed on Dec 27, 2022, of cancer, at her home in Stockwell, Indiana. Deb was 62 years old, born on April 20, 1960, to the late Herman and Mary Jo (Ward) Smith in Lebanon, Indiana. She grew up in Parke County Indiana and graduated from Turkey Run High School in 1978. She grew up on her family’s farm and showed cattle and hogs for several years in 4H.

Deb worked at RR Donnelly and Sons Printing Co. in Crawfordsville, Indiana for twenty seven and a half  years. Deb earned her associates degree in 2015.

On March 7, 1987, Deb Married Hilory (Butch) Hammond Jr. They had 3 children Joshua Reynolds (Rachel) of Williamsport, Indiana, Megann Miller (Joel) of Hernando, Florida and Joseph (JT) Hammond (deceased). Deb had 3 siblings Randy Smith of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Melinda Athey of Talbot, Tennessee and Pam Smith of Indiana. Deb also had 6 Grand kids.

Deb loved spending time with her family, traveling and reading books.

Dress will be casual for graveside services on Jan 5, 2023, at 1 o’clock, at the Yorktown Cemetery on Stockwell/Darlington Rd. (S 700 E) and SR 28.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the U&A Veterans Committee, 2555 South 30^th Street Ste B, Lafayette, Indiana, 47909. The money will be divided between the Veterans Committee and local women’s shelter in the area.
