Deborah Jean Anderson (1955 - 2024)
Deborah Jean Anderson (Debi), of Plainfield, Indiana, passed away at IU West Hospital on November 15th at the age of 69.
She was born in Indianapolis, IN in 1955 to Schuyler and Martha Spoon. Debi grew up in Mooresville, Indiana where she graduated from Mooresville High School. Upon graduation, she moved to Plainfield and worked over 20 years as the Office Manager for Payne Electric Company before retiring in 2022. She lived most of her adult life in Plainfield, Indiana.
Debi was a devoted and loving mother to her only son, Josh (Amanda) Anderson and took special care to teach him generosity and kindness helping to lead him to a career in nonprofit service. She was a loving grandmother to her 4 grandchildren/step-grandchildren, Hannah, Marcus, Penelope and Gideon.
Debi was always quick to assist anyone around her who may be in need. Her charity and goodwill were evident to anyone around her and she always preferred to give quietly when the need was greatest. Her altruism was never reciprocal and her heart and capacity for giving was evident throughout her life and will be considerably missed. She loved music, books and football, especially Notre Dame and the Colts.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Schuyler Spoon Jr and Martha Spoon (Hunter); and is survived by her son, Josh (Amanda) Anderson, grandchildren/step-grandchildren, Hannah, Marcus, Penelope, Gideon; brother, Mike (Rosa) Spoon; and nieces and nephews, Joel, Ty, Aaron and Allison, along with her great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring closer to Debi's birthday to gather and join in celebration of a life, family, friendship and kindness that ended too soon.
