Davis LaVerne Young

Davis LaVerne "Verne" Young, 83, of Indianapolis passed away on October 1, 2021 surrounded by his family. Verne was born to the late John and Stella Young in Mount Vernon, Indiana

Verne worked in construction doing remodeling for residential homes.

Verne was a man of deep faith and a member of Mount Olive Church. He loved reading the bible, spreading the word GOD and customizing prayer boxes for others.

He is survived by children, Tammy (Julie) Young, Gala McCoy, Davis (Rhonda) Young Jr.; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and sisters, Betty Eastman and Lois Grissom.

Verne is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; son, Jeffrey Young; siblings, John, James, Paul, Maurice, and Marilyn.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel with the funeral starting at 5:00 PM
