David “Slick” Webber, age 71, of Indianapolis, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 22, 2025, from a severe head injury.

Slick was born in Jasper, Indiana, on July 17, 1954, to the late J. Howard and Elsie (Bauernfiend) Webber. He married Adrienne Gramelspacher on September 9, 1978, and they recently celebrated their 47th anniversary.

Slick graduated from Jasper High School with the class of 1972, whom he called “the greatest graduating class in Jasper High School history!” He went on to graduate from Vanderbilt University in 1976, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Throughout his life, sports brought great joy to Slick. He loved watching Mt. Vernon (Fortville) sports, and his distinct voice could always be heard cheering the Marauders on to victory. He was told many times that he bled black and gold. As Slick would say, “GO, CATS! GO, ‘DORES! GO, MARAUDERS!”

Slick worked in sales his entire life until his retirement. He was an active member of the Mt. Comfort Optimist Club and a volunteer youth coach for many years. After serving as the PTO President for Mt. Comfort Elementary School, he was then elected to the Mt. Vernon School Board. In addition to serving his community, Slick was also a member of Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic Church. His faith, family, and friends were the most important parts of his life.

Slick enjoyed life to the fullest and was extremely outgoing. He never met a stranger and was always the life of the party. Slick loved finding ways to bring people together. He organized gatherings, big golf outings, and even celebrations to honor those treasured people who were instrumental in his life. He was blessed with many wonderful friends whom he truly loved. In his free time, Slick could be found with his buddies at Royal Hylands Golf Club in Knightstown, where he was a member for many years. He was especially proud to say that he was a six-time winner of his family’s Webber Scramble.

Slick is survived by his wife Adrienne, daughter Natalie (Adam) Howell, and sons Luke (Stacy) and Kirk (Brittany) Webber. He had 10 grandchildren: Brady, Max, Ali, Kinley, Brooklyn, Kase, Leah, Elizabeth, Austin, and Molly. He is survived by his siblings Brenda Donofrio, Donna (Howard) Slathar, Doug (Margaret) Webber, Anita (Keith) Hedinger, Paula (Eric) Getzin, Teresa Boyd, and Lauri (Bret) Ackerman. He is survived by his mother-in-law Rosemarie Gramelspacher, brothers-in-law Dr. Curt Gramelspacher and Dr. Craig Gramelspacher, and sister-in-law Adair McPherson. He had 27 nieces and nephews, and he had 6 godchildren.

Slick was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Pamela (who died in infancy), his father-in-law Gene Gramelspacher, brothers-in-law Dan Donofrio and Clark Gramelspacher, and nephew Ted Gramelspacher.
