David Arnold Trackwell, 74, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, with his wife by his side. He was born August 1, 1950, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the oldest of identical twins (Daniel Trackwell) followed by four other siblings, Mark Trackwell, Priscilla Varnadore, Chloe Trackwell, and Esther Trackwell.
David graduated from Decatur Central High School. He went on to attend Indiana University, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in business management. He worked a number of years in managing departments at Sears. In 1977 he left there to pursue a career at the United States Postal Service. He had various positions before retiring in 2007.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Harlon and Florence Trackwell and his brother, Mark Trackwell.
David is survived by his wife, Sharon Trackwell. They were married 51 years and although they were never a perfect couple, they lived an amazing and blessed life. A life in which their faith in Jesus Christ was the center of their marriage. David was a proud and loving father to two amazing daughters; Jennifer Beasley and Kara Burgin, whom he loved dearly. He enjoyed being able to take his children on many vacations throughout their childhood and adult lives. He had four grandchildren that he loved with all his heart and was so proud of Kaleb Poynter, Olivia, Ella, and Lucy Burgin.
David was blessed with many attributes. He was an amazing communicator, had a great sense of humor, never knew a stranger, he was kind and generous. He loved sports, traveling with his family, fishing, antique cars, and talking to his buddies on the phone. Having a heart for the lost was his greatest concern. He loved his Lord and Savior, and we rejoice that he is no longer suffering and is in the presence of Christ.
