In Loving Memory of David Clive Mullins Jr.

David Clive Mullins Jr., 54, passed away on July 22, 2026, at IU Health Fishers Hospital after a courageous four-year battle with stage 4 metastatic lung cancer. He was born on January 23, 1972, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, to David Clive Mullins Sr. and Greta Maedrew Mullins (Cyphers).David was raised on the west side of Indianapolis and attended schools through IPS, Cloverdale, and the Soldiers' and Sailors' Children's Home. Later, he made Avon, Indiana, home where he brought his children into the world with his then wife. In the later years of his life, he called Noblesville, Indiana home, with his sister close by.

David was a man with a fire for life. Those who knew him would describe him as the life of the party, someone who could bring energy into a room and make the people around him feel his presence. He had a generous spirit and touched the lives of many people throughout his years, leaving behind memories, stories, and moments that will be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

David enjoyed NASCAR, listening to music and paying attention to the lyrics, watching old television shows, and spending time with family and friends. He began his working life as a union laborer before becoming HVAC certified. Throughout his career, he was notably employed by Acorn: 7 years, Simon Property Group: 3 years, and later Goodwill Industries, until recently. His work was an important part of his life, but those who knew him best will remember him for much more than what he did for a living.

Above all David was a son, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He shared four children with Elaine Vigil (Loya): Madison Lucas (Tyler), Hunter Mullins (Lisa), Kaden Mullins, and Kendyl Mullins, all of Arizona. He is also survived by his sister, Kimberly Austin (Bill); his nieces, Jordan Schaefer (Billy) and Mackenzie Austin (Alex); and one great-niece and one great-nephew, along with many extended family members and friends who will carry his memory with them. David was preceded in death by his father, David Clive Mullins Sr., who passed away in 2018, and his mother, Greta Maedrew Mullins, who passed away in 2021.

David's life was not defined by the challenges he faced, but by the strength he showed in facing them. For four years, he courageously fought stage 4 metastatic lung cancer. Through it all, his life continued to be a story of resilience, perseverance, and a determination to keep going. His passing marks the end of a chapter in the lives of those who knew him. While life is not always simple and relationships are not always easy, David was a part of the lives of many people who will remember him in their own way. He leaves behind children and family members who will each remember him in their own way, as well as friends and loved ones whose lives he touched throughout the years. His legacy lives on in the memories he created the lessons he left behind, and the people who carry a piece of his story with them. May he rest peacefully, free from pain, and may those who loved him find comfort in the memories they hold close. David will be remembered, missed, and never forgotten.
