David Kent Hanna passed away peacefully in his home in Fishers,Indiana on February 6, 2026. David was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Glenn and Louise Hanna on October 10,1941. He graduated from Lawerence Central High School in 1960. He then went on to have careers at Wonder Bread, Coca-Cola, and finally retired from Ford Motor Company after 40 years of loyal employment.
David married Cheryl Kaye Hanna and together they had three children. He was a devoted father to not only his own children, but would also become a pivotal father figure to his two grandchildren.
After building the perfect home in Fishers,Indiana for his family, he dedicated much of his time to its maintenance. There was always a new project to be worked on; mostly at the request of his wife. When not working around the house, one could typically find him relaxing in his favorite spot on the couch watching NASCAR or the latest show on the History Channel.
David was reunited in death with his wife, Cheryl Kaye Hanna, whom he lost in November 2021. He is also proceeded in death by his parents, Glenn and Louise Hanna; and his sister, Rita Hanna-Phillips.
He is survived by his brother, Steve Hanna; his sons, Kurtis Hanna and Timothy Hanna; his daughter, Kelly Hanna; granddaughter, Kelsie Craig (Darren Craig); and grandson, Ty Hancock. Although he will be dearly missed, his family and friends take comfort in knowing he has found his eternal peace.
