David Michael Gilbert

David M. Gilbert, 71, of Noblesville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 13, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 17, 1953, in Noblesville, he was the son of Ova and Opal Gilbert.

A proud graduate of Noblesville High School, David spent most of his life in his beloved hometown. He worked as a dedicated semi-truck driver for 42 years and more recently was employed at Purgatory Golf Course. David was an avid bowler, enjoyed mowing yards, loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and never met a stranger.

He was a devoted member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where he accepted Christ as his Savior and secured his eternal home.

David is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Brenda (Hill) Gilbert; and his children Daniel (Leann) Stone, Jamie Pisano, Kristin (Aaron) McGaughey, Amanda (Greg) Mark, and Nicole Stone. He was a proud grandfather of four grandsons and five granddaughters, and a great-grandfather to five great-grandsons and five great-granddaughters.

He is also survived by his siblings KC (Deborah) Gilbert, and James Gilbert; and his sisters-in-law Sandy Gilbert, Debby (Todd) Harris, Shelia Meade, and Tammy Wood. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Orva and Opal Gilbert; his brothers Donald Gilbert, Bill Gilbert, and Denny Gilbert; his sister Barbara Baskin; his great-granddaughter Judy Kay Dorsey; and his brother-in-law Ronnie Meade.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 11818 SR 32 E, Noblesville, IN 46060.

Arrangements are entrusted to Indiana Funeral Care.

The service will be officiated by Pastor Ben Stafford.

David’s warmth, sense of humor, and unwavering faith left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of many.
