David Clippert

David Clippert, 67, passed away on January 27, 2024, in Indianapolis, IN.

David Clippert was born on October 20, 1956 in Davenport, IA, to Duane Clippert and Charlene Clippert.

Dave graduated from Batesville High school in 1976 and went on to earn an Associate degree in restaurant management from Indiana University in 1979. He worked in this field for over 25 years. He was happiest in his career when he, along with his sister and nephew, owned and operated the restaurant, "R Place Bistro", located in Batesville, Indiana, in the1990's.

Dave married his former spouse, Dorothy Ryan Clippert in 1981 and the couple had 3 children, Emily Clippert, Lauren Clippert, and Gabriel Clippert. Lauren precedes him in death.

Dave loved spending time with family. He was an excellent cook. He enjoyed watching a good movie with his family, a winning day at the casino (especially Vegas!), and vacationing on the beach. Dave was perhaps best known for his devotion to the Green Bay Packers and loved rooting them on each fall and winter, in good years and in bad. His whole family watched with him, but Gabe and Lauren especially bled green and gold, right along side their Dad!

Dave is survived by his daughter, Emily Clippert; his son, Gabriel Clippert; former spouse, Dorothy Ryan Clippert; his siblings Karen Cawley (Paul),

Dana Clippert, Terry Stockwell, Christie Clippert, Steven Clippert (Laurie), Jeffrey Clippert, Charlene Williams (David), Amy Bernard; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dave is preceded in death by his daughter, Lauren Clippert; his father Duane Clippert; his mother, Charlene Clippert; his sister, Allyn Harvey; his brother-in-law, John Harvey, and his niece, Tracy Dwenger.

The visitation for David Clippert will be held on Saturday, February 3 from 11:00 am to 1 pm at the Greenwood location. A private service will follow.

Memorial donations can be made in David's name to the Spina Bifida Association of Indiana.
