David Allen Budd, age 86, passed away on August 27, 2026.

Born on April 27, 1940, David was united in marriage to Carolyn Martin on August 29, 1964. Together they shared more than 61 years of marriage.

David worked for Allstate Insurance for over 35 years. Outside of his career, he found great joy in fishing, especially at Lake of the Woods in Canada. He was an avid collector of Indiana-made fishing lures and fishing tackle and dedicated much of his energy to the National Fishing Lure Collectors Club (NFLCC), where he was a life member. David hosted many local lure shows as well as the National Show in 1986 and 1987, and he served two terms as club president.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Libby Budd, and his siblings Phyllis Lorance, Mary Jane Budd, and Jerry Budd.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn; his daughter, Carmen Rieg (Todd); and his grandchildren, Graham Rieg (Natalie) and Lindsay Rieg.

He will be remembered for his passion for fishing, his contributions to the collecting community, and the devoted life he shared with his family.
