Darrell Johnson

Darrell Johnson, age 65, of Indiana, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Darrell was a lifelong Hoosier who took pride in his roots and the life he built through hard work, dedication, and love for his family.

Darrell graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 1978 and went on to attend vocational school, where he learned the plumbing trade. He devoted 44 years of his life as a licensed journeyman plumber, a career that reflected his strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to helping others.

Darrell was a devoted father to his daughters, Cheryl L. Johnson (Don King) and Leslie Hamm, whom he loved deeply. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Leslie and by his father, Glenn Johnson. He is also survived by his mother, Patricia Johnson, and two brothers, Eric Johnson (Tracy) and Kurt Johnson (Marcia), with whom he shared many cherished memories.

Darrell found his greatest joy in the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time on or near the water…all places where he felt most at peace. Whether casting a line, enjoying nature, or sharing stories with family, Darrell loved every moment.

He will be remembered for his steady presence, kind heart, and the quiet strength he showed throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his legacy of hard work, love, and loyalty will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
