Darlene Lynam

Darlene Ann Lynam (Foote) passed away peacefully on March 20, 2024, in Greenfield, IN, at the age of 80. She was born on June 21, 1943, in Binghamton, NY. Darlene was known for her kind, sweet, loving, and gentle nature.

Darlene was a dedicated LPN for 17 years, retiring in 1989. Her passion for nursing was evident in her work and in her life. She attended Elk Lake High School in Pennsylvania and pursued further education in Nursing School.

Family was at the center of Darlene's life. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Lee Cartmell; granddaughters, Tammy Lee Varner (William Varner), Nicole Marie Whitesell (David Whitesell); grandson, Jason Charles Cartmell; twin great-granddaughters, Emma & Bella Varner;step twin great-grandsons Vance & Cameron Whitesell; sister, Nancy Kutz, and many nieces and nephews. 

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband Commander Donald Myers Lynam; mother, Helen Hayes Foote; father, Francis Elwood Foote, and sister, Lois Sims.

Darlene's favorite pastimes included spending time with her family, swimming, enjoying chocolate, watching Dr. Phil, and admiring actors John Wayne & Charles Bronson. Her favorite vacation was in Rome, Italy.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Darlene's life will be held at Indiana Funeral Care, 2433 E. Main St., Greenwood, IN, on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 12pm to 2pm.
