Dale Richard Thomas

Dale Richard "Rick" Thomas, 84 of Greenfield Indiana passed away May 3, 2025. Rick was born August 2, 1940 to Dale and Ruth Thomas.

Rick graduated from Fortville High School and in 1961 married his wife of 63 years, Connie. Rick was drafted into the army and deployed to Germany where him and Connie travelled around Europe.

Rick worked as a carpenter and retired as a finish carpenter for Charles C Brandt Construction Co. Rick and Connie built their homestead of 55 years in 1969. Rick was truly a builder of beautiful things.

Rick shared a love of gardening, flowers, and trees with his wife and they spent many vacations visiting gardens across the country. Rick also enjoyed playing golf, bird watching, and his Farmall tractors. Rick especially loved playing with his grandchildren. Rick would get on the floor playing puppies and store, jump in the pool playing sharks and more.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Connie, bother Samuel, and brothers in law Lynn White and Jack Goff.

Rick is survived by his daughter Letsy (Tim) McCarthy, sisters Sue Goff, JoDee White, Charlene Robinson (Ernie), grandchildren Kara (Nathan) Gresh, Lauren (Luke) Panfil, and David (Sumer) McCarthy. He is also survived by great grandchildren Eddie, Max, Lily, Ambrose, Joan, Rose and Samuel.
