Cynthia Lou Sims, lovingly known as Cindy, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, in her hometown of Indianapolis, at the age of 67. Born on October 16, 1958, also in Indianapolis, Cindy lived a life marked by compassion, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family and those fortunate enough to know her.
Cindy’s life was shaped by the enduring bonds of family. She was a cherished daughter to Mary Parsley and the late Kenneth Branam, and she held dear the legacies of her brothers Kevin Branam and Kerry Branam, who preceded her in passing. Cindy’s brother, Ken Branam, and sister, Jeanette Hammer, remember her with great love and appreciation for her kindness and steadfastness throughout the years.
At the center of Cindy’s world was her beloved husband, John Sims, to whom she was a constant source of love and companionship. Together, they built a home filled with laughter and care, setting the foundation for their children, Kelli and Wesley, to flourish. Cindy was a devoted mother, always ready to encourage and nurture her family, guiding them with gentle strength.
Her role as grandmother brought her immense joy. Alexis, Olivia, Gavin, and Lydia were the lights of her life, and she treasured every moment spent in their company.
Though Cindy's physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved and cared for so dearly.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
