Cynthia Carlstedt
Gunsalus
April 19, 1964 – May 31, 2026
With infinite gratitude for a life well lived, we celebrate the life of Cindy, who transitioned to her eternal home, with her daughters by her side, on May 31, 2026 at the age of 62.
Born on April 19, 1964 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to Nancy and John Carlstedt, Cindy was a devoted follower of Christ whose life exemplified a spirit of faith, resilience, and joy. She found strength and purpose through her relationship with God and sought to share her passion for life with everyone she encountered.
Cindy graduated from Asbury College then earned her Masters and Doctorate in Education from Ball State University before spending the majority of her fulfilling career as a college professor at Indiana Wesleyan University.
Cindy was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, and friend and was known for her zeal for life and fun loving nature. Whether through her mentorship of the students she taught or the infectious laughter she shared with so many, she touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on her community.
She held many titles with so much pride: Mom, Sister, Daughter, Professor, and Gigi. The space she held is irreplaceable to those who loved her and her absence will be felt in immeasurable ways.
Cindy is lovingly survived by her two daughters, Krista Stephenson (Chad Stephenson) and Kayla Pasquariello (Taylor Pasquariello) as well as four grandchildren: Maverick and Micah Stephenson and Cecelia and Judah Pasquariello. She is also survived by her two brothers, Steve and Dave Carlstedt, and their families.
Though our hearts grieve the loss of Cindy's earthly presence, we rejoice in the assurance that she is now reunited with Jesus. We celebrate a life marked by generosity, infectious laughter, and love for family and friends. We take comfort in the promise of restoration in heaven.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to loved ones and medical staff for their prayers, encouragement, and support during this journey.
